I concur - no reason to bring a ton of stuff. I've whittled my gear down to three crates.
lol, exactly Martin. I thought I could limit it to two, but then I realised I hadn't included my greatcoat (as a pillow), food, beer, and a load of books for Dave B. And I'm going to be wearing half my Kraut gear on the journey up!
BTW, for those wanting to partake in the "full kit challenge", I have decided against bringing my e-tool - it won't go through concrete. ![]()
Anyway, if this rain stops, I'm going for a recce to the new(ish) Aldi superstore, to see what Jerry food they've got.
(I already tried Lidl - it was crap.)

Hmm I thought you may have attached a bb to it and used it for an improvised knife kill
Aldi - another waste of time. How come there's hardly any German food in it?? They had no pickles, no sauerkraut, and only Volkornbröt. All I got was a salami and some cheese. And then it poured with rain on the way back.
Maybe I should've had a look in a Polski sklep - but I'd always be thinking they were saying "what's this stupid Englander doing in here?"
Anybody else up for a bring-and-share Kraut food fest? If somebody could get some decent bread, they can have some of my cheese. ![]()

Indeedy.
I'll be taking a trip to the excellently named Backhaus [link]http://www.backhaus.co.uk[/link] to get hold of some goodies. If anyone wants me to pick up something for them just let me know.
Waitrose is good for pepper salami, pickled herrings and german mustard
May I share a loaf of bread with you, Martin? 6 or 8-grain bread sounds interesting!
7.2 and rising... ![]()

Well concerns over not having t' right gear have kept me on a low simmer of around 7 or so.
However as Lipton has just modelled his based on a US greatcoat and look bl@@dy Russian, I am now raising steadily to appreciable pre-game excitement levels.
Well, even horrible work cannot dampen my spirits. I walked the route accompanied by Alte Kameraden and Ade Polenland, amongst others, bouyed by the fact that Stof will also be bringing his Tornister. They will be just the right size for all the food and stuff we will have to carry around.
7.5… ![]()

I would say I am simmering at a steady 8-9 now my Gimnasterka has turned up lol

I'm up to a sweaty 9.5 now.
I just tested out by brand new Juwel benzin-kocher all ready for quick in-game brew-ups of ersatz-kaffe
heating up nicely to a 7.5 at the moment
“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

I hope its a genuine WW2 one Neil.
Using petrol fired cookers in enclosed spaces when people are shooting at you isn't nearly as much fun if it's a nasty modern one.

No, it's a brand new Juwel one (yes they still make them) but it's 90% the same as an original (post war) Juwel 34 (now I have sprayed it with RAL 6006)
I decided to go with the slightly less authentic but safe and reliable option rather than risk messing about with a 60 year old petrol-bomb!
It works exactly the same as the originals, you still have to set it on fire to pressurise it!

My excitement factor has risen by two full points as I complete the last items on the list of props for Boryszyn. Aaaaaand relax....

Is that for the kinky dungeon section ??

Yup, all accessories as per your PM'd request....

...and you haven't told Kermit and Guy, have you?

I used Guy for beta-testing - I didn't know it was supposed to be a surprise. Ah well, its all wipe clean kit so no harm done. I'm not wrapping it up though!

Well, only 2 more days of work before the event - I usually try to take the Friday off beforehand.
ASDA were doing some decent bottled beers for £1 - must check that out.

Still a few props for me to source, and loads of things to sort. Halfway through charging batteries now.
Still, the site's about 20 minutes from home, so it's not a problem if I forget anything!

Headshot's levels will rise a little more when he receives the beautiful blue card in the post on Thursday. Chombleys and a few more should have crept a tincy bit higher today.
I have gone up half a point and tomorrow am about to charge batteries and lay clobber on the spare bed for ticking off on the checklist. The omnipotent Stig has supplied Pumpernickel, ShoKaKola and Jam in a tin from his travels to Der Vaterland and I am going to have so much fun tomorrow assembling the kit.
After an Excitement Assessment at or around T-time tomorrow I will report back with a fresh reading...... I hope it will be an 8 at least.

LOOK! I ham now four meggle man!
